Today, 2,500 linear feet of creeks have been restored. of Agriculture, the Natural Resources Conservation District and California Fish and Game. In 1996, they began stream restoration on both Forsythe and Walker Creeks, working in conjunction with the U.S. The Church continues to be good stewards of the land.

And, in the 1960’s began reseeding the logged area with Ponderosa Pine.

The Church Association has actively pursued preservation of the old growth redwood forest that remain on the land. Current operations include a mobile home park and running 200 head of cattle. Over the years, the Church has supported itself by various business ventures such as a dairy operation and print shop. We are unbelievably lucky to live in an area with such a diverse and supportive network of farmers, food producers and food advocates, and we look forward to continue building and contributing to our relationships with the following organizations, places and individuals:Ĭhrist’s Church of the Golden Rule purchased the 16,000 +/- acre ranch from the Welch Brothers in 1962. Over the course of our semester we visit over 30 different farms and facilities involved with food production, and we host a multitude of guest instructors who come to us to teach workshops and classes on everything from marketing to welding. One of the greatest strengths of our school is the wonderful community network of Mendocino County and some of our surrounding counties.
